Engine oils plays an important role in the machine as well as blood in the human body, oil to avoid direct friction role of each component, keeping the engine temperature by transporting heat in a machine element to the cooler areas.

Oil as blood for our vehicle
Use a good engine oils to extend engine lifetime until decades, therefore it's important for us to understand the process of engine oils works to protect and how to choose the oil for our vehicles car or motorcycle.

PERFORMANCE OIL in the engine is to protect the components from direct friction, the friction resulting in wear because machines that enlarge the clearance between components, so can reduce engine performance and even down the engine. Just because we are not quite understand the performance of oil and how to choose oil.

Detail A ( 15.000 Zooming )

gear box

Flatness of surface component is not really flat like the as it seems, if at zoom 15.000 such as steep hills that march (detail A), If parts moving susceptible to wear and rubbing. Therefore, in requiring engine oils to entering between the sidelines of hill. But the oil can get into the sidelines of hill at a temperature of approximately 40C - 80C, then DO NOT give direct load when the new engine in turn by entering the gears, just imagine the hill rubbing without engine oils. Give the oil time to go to the sidelines about 1-2 minutes or warming up the calls.

HOW TO CHOOSE ENGINE OILS??  adjust to our vehicle

Oil is divided into three  :

* Mineral oil
= oil which is taken from underground or petroleum
* Full syntactic oil = oil taken from plants
* Semi synthetic oil = oil mixture of mineral and synthetic oil

More and more oil product, but what fits best for our vehicle? There are several factors :

1. Your vehicle technology

If your vehicle is only for ordinary vehicles in everyday use it just use mineral oil, it's not illegal if you use synthetic oil but it is a waste because synthetic oil is very expensive. For vehicles over the year 2001 will be better with semi synthetic oil. If your vehicle tech turbo, supercharger, Racing, DOHC, (to race), etc.. Then you are in recommend using synthetic oil.

2. Vehicle products

Standardization of oil that is there are 2 codes API (American Petroleum Institute) and JASO (Japan Automotive Standards Association). If your vehicle made in europe select oil-coded
API standard  and if your vehicle made in Japan choose oil API standard  and JASO. Because the vehicles made in Europe using the technology of dry clutch and Japan the wet clutch, so oil type in use is also different.

3. Standardization
code

Any standardization of both the API and JASO is a holding letter code.Example: API SA, SB API, API SC, .... API CA, CB API ... S = C = petrol vehicles to diesel vehicles A = the quality of the oil, the closer Z is the better quality.

Example: JASO MA, JASO MA2 ... JASO MB, MB2 ... JASO MA2 = for vehicles with a wet clutch, the higher number the better quality is next to the vehicle MB = matic vehicle.

4. VG (viscosity grade)

VG is the value of oil viscosity, measurement of the value of VG using the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers).
Example:

1. Single Grade: SAE 40 = VG viscosity value is 40, is suitable for country with no extreme seasons.

2. Multi Grade: SAE 10W-40 = (10) it means the viscosity index of 10 (W) if the VG there is the letter W means the engine oils does not freeze at temperatures below 0C, ideal for county with 4 seasons or extreme season. And viscosity index turned into 40C when 100C.
